WUJS Israel pick potatoes

Ayla Lefkowich enjoying picking potatoes for the homeless

On a boiling hot May afternoon the WUJS group made the journey to a field just outside of Rechovot to pick potatoes.  This was part of an initiative by the organisation Table to Table who bring volunteers in Israel to pick fruit and vegetables that will be given to soup kitchens and homeless shelters around the country.  It was inspiring to be having so much fun yet feel like you were doing a mitzvah at the same time.  6 rows were completed in record time, even faster than the group from the army who had been earlier in the day!  Well done to all.
