The old saying, time flies when you're having fun cannot even describe how fast times moves in Israel. While some WUJS participants arrived knowing some conversational hebrew, most could just about manage a "Shalom" and "Shana Tova" but that is not the case anymore.

After a few ulpan classes and 1,000's of "sorry I don't speak hebrew", the participants are starting to pick up daily phases. In class, the morot (teachers) focus on grammar and vocabulary but it is the immersion with the people that enables the participants to practice and enhance their Hebrew skills. Whether in the classroom, the bus, the street, or the bar, the Israeli's love to chat with participants and the participants like to show off their new language skills. It must be the accent we use because we seem to be quite popular with the locals!
